Nexus 5 slips into the Google Play Store

Even though the Nexus 4 was a very nice smartphone, and one of our  favorite handsets of 2012 , it had quite a few areas where it could improve. LTE capabilities and bad battery life were two of the most glaring negatives about the handset, and Google has seemed to fix those issues with its latest smartphone. Many leaked manuals have claimed that the Nexus 5 will have a 2.3 gigahertz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 2,300 miliamp hour battery, and a 4.95 inch 1080p display. These specs have yet to be confirmed by Google, but the design has practically been made official by today's Nexus 5 leak. Let's take a look. The Nexus 5 basically looks like a somewhat better version of LG's most recent flagship smartphone, the G2. It has the same thin bezels around the screen, and the screen itself is only 0.25 inches smaller. The back appears to be made of a matte or soft touch plastic, which would feel immensely better than the G2's cheap and disgusting glossy...

Hands-On with the Motorola Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra

Even though the Moto X is going to be on every US carrier, Motorola still feels the need to have a line of Droid handsets on Verizon. Motorola’s Droid Razr HD, Maxx HD, and Razr M were relatively successful products, and they were actually really good.  The Maxx HD brought hours and hours of battery life, a speedy processor, and a decent HD display. The Razr M was a very nice smartphone in a small package, and was one of the best small Android phones you could buy at the time. This year, Verizon and Motorola unveiled the Motorola Droid Ultra, Maxx, and Motorola Droid Mini at a launch event a while back.  These products are now available for $200, $300, and $100 on contract respectively at Verizon, so we decided to try out the Ultra and Maxx handsets for ourselves. Can these Droids stand up to the likes of the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Motorola’s own Moto X? Are these the Droids you’re looking for? Scroll onwards to find out the answers to these questions and more ...

Peter Capaldi Is the Twelfth Doctor

A while back, Matt Smith announced that he would be leaving Doctor Who  at the end of this year. This left many Whovians asking, "Who is the next Doctor?" After months of anticipation and speculation, the BBC has finally answered us. They announced last Sunday that the Twelfth Doctor would be played by Peter Capaldi. Capaldi has been a Doctor Who  fan for quite some time, and he even sent the BBC a letter asking them to make more episodes when he was fifteen years-old. He appeared on the British sci-fi classic before in "The Fires of Pompeii" when David Tennant was the Doctor. Peter Capaldi is most famous for his role as Malcom Tucker on The Thick of It on BBC Two. He also starred as a W.H.O. doctor in the recent zombie-thriller World War Z . Coincidence? I think not. Most long-time Whovians have welcomed Capaldi into the Doctor Who  universe, but some newer fans are a little skeptical. At fifty-five years-old Peter Capaldi is a little older than recent Doctors, ...

Some companies have decided to make  cameras with fewer megapixels and better sensors , while most smartphone manufactures have improved their cameras by adding more megapixels. The rounded green buttons looked bland so we turned them into flat, transparent black buttons with green wording. This transparent look adds a...
